alas, the light

We seek to fill our unquenchable thirst for inner fulfillment with idols that in reality only lead to our internal death. Money, fame, popularity, sex, reputation...The consequences of these seemingly fulfilling goals are to further deepen your anxiety- because none of them will ever satisfy your need for longing and BElonging. We wait, wait, and wait for someone or something to fill that void.

And how frustrating it is to expend energy on something or someone that doesn't reciprocate it at all. Then again that frustration is tainted by societal conditions that try to convince you that giving something is reserved only for the time you know you'll get something in return.

We need to learn to let go of our anxieties, let go of our need for acceptance and place our trust in the only One who will ever love us unconditionally and eternally (HOW INCREDIBLE IS THAT?).

He might not give you the item, but He'll definitely meet the need.
