We choose to present ourselves to the world in such a way that will mask our inner most fears and insecurities. The problem arises when our presentation clashes with an insecurity, only to provoke an interior cataclysm that at first seems catastrophic but in the end proves to be beneficial. I quote.
"We need to identify specific instances in which we fall short. Are we dogmatic, opinionated, blunt, and abrupt? Do we seek to intimidate or dominate others by the sheer force of our personality? Do people feel ill at ease in our presence because they think we are silently judging their weaknesses and correcting their faults?"
The beauty of having a brain and being able to use it is that we can instigate change within us that will not only make us better people but better to be with.
I am amazed at how society teaches us that certain qualities are virtues and unchangeable. Then one day you wake up and realize that one of your so-called strengths is actually your worst weakness.
